Traveling with dogs can be a stressful situation, not only for you but also for them! Although many dogs enjoy going on car rides, it’s always a good idea to make sure you are prepared for any scenario that may occur.
What to Bring
Before you take off, ensure that you have everything your dog needs. Pack food, a water bowl, blankets, toys, poop bags and whatever product you use to clean off their paws. You don’t want to ruin those clean car seats. Anytime you have your furry friend in the car, it’s important that they have a proper seat or restraint, so they don’t cause a distraction to you while you are on the road.

On the Road
Once on the road, please remember that, just like us, pups need potty breaks. Prepare to stop frequently to not only allow them to relieve themselves but also to get some stored-up energy out of their system! But be sure to use a leash or harness at each stop. A dog that has been cooped up in a moving car is more likely to rush into traffic or into other people in their eagerness to explore and run around.
Pre-Prep Reminder
Along with your dog supplies, don’t forget to wash your pup before you go! A clean doggo will make the trip more pleasant for both of you.
With the right preparation, traveling with dogs can be a memorable and exciting adventure!
